Tips for Seasoning Your Meals with Soul

Karen Mitchell Wilcher is celebrating her 20th year in the food industry. She is owner of Table Matters, a food consulting firm specializing in recipe development, marketing support services and special events management. Karen has worked with several consumer products companies and has also written for Cooking Light, Weight Watchers and Health magazines.

Prior to starting Table Matters, she honed her hospitality management skills with Westin Hotels and the Levy Organization of Chicago. Karen has held staff positions with The Quaker Oats Company and Cooking Light magazine, where she developed recipes to support editorial features and the marketing objectives for the branded products, respectively.

Wilcher earned a bachelors degree in Restaurant Management from the University of Illinois. She has also increased her culinary expertise with additional studies at the Culinary Institute of America and Washburne Culinary Institute of Chicago. Karen is a member of IACP, The Southern Foodways Alliance and Toastmasters. She resides in Mitchellville, Maryland with her family.
