Karen Mitchell-Wilcher celebrates over 25 years in the food industry. She is the principal of Table Matters, a food consulting firm specializing in recipe development, marketing support services and special events management. Karen has worked with several consumer products companies including McCormick and Reynolds. She has also contributed to Weight Watchers, Southern Living and Health magazines.
Prior to starting Table Matters, she honed her hospitality management skills with Westin Hotels and the Levy Organization of Chicago. Karen has held staff positions with Cooking Light magazine and the Quaker Oats Company, where she developed recipes to support editorial features and the marketing objectives for the branded products, respectively.
Wilcher earned a bachelor degree in Restaurant Management from the University of Illinois. She has also increased her culinary expertise with additional studies at the Culinary Institute of America and Washburne Culinary Institute of Chicago. Karen has held memberships in IACP, The Southern Foodways Alliance and Toastmasters. She resides in Mitchellville, Maryland with her family.
