Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

Makes 2 dozen cookies


1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 cup rolled oats
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon salt


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cream together shortening and peanut butter. Mix brown sugar and white sugar and add to shortening gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Combine egg and milk and add to mixture. Fold in rolled oats. Stir together flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and salt and add to peanut mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet and bake 12-15 minutes.
