Indian Relish


12 sweet pickles
15 onions
1/2 pk. green tomatoes
2 qt. vinegar
1 qt. sugar
1 Tbsp. full celery seet
1 Tbsp. full white pepper
1 Tbsp. full mustard seed
1 Tbsp. full turmeric powder


Chop tomatoes and onions; let stand in salt water 24 hours and drain. Put one pint of vinegar and 1 pint of water; heat and drain off. Heat vinegar and water again and drain.

Chop pickles and add all together. Add one pint vinegar and one pint water and heat again.
