Blonde Brownies

Ingredients:

Brownies:
1 c. butter (margarine)

2 1/4 c. brown sugar (packed)
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts or pecans (chopped)
Frosting (if desired)

Garnish (if desired):
Walnut or pecan halves
Lemon zest

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter (margarine) in saucepan. Add brown sugar to melted butter and mix well. Remove from heat and allow cooling. Add eggs and dry ingredients. Add vanilla, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Stir until combined.

Spread in greased 15 X 10 X 1-inch jelly roll pan.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool completely before frosting and cut into squares, then garnish with nut halves or lemon zest (if desired).
