Meatballs in Brown Gravy
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
- 3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup milk
- Vegetable cooking spray
- Brown Gravy
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons Clabber Girl Cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
For meatballs:
Combine beef, breadcrumbs, seasoned salt, garlic powder, pepper, egg and milk; mixing well. Shape into 2- inch meatballs. Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Brown meatballs in skillet, about 3 minutes turning frequently to cook evenly. Drain; reserve drippings in skillet.
For gravy:
Add cornstarch, salt and pepper to drippings; mix well. Gradually add broth, stirring until smooth. Add red wine and stir well. Add reserved meatballs to gravy; cover and simmer 5 to 6 minutes to heat thoroughly.
