Pulled Pork


  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups barbeque sauce
  • 1 cup chopped onion


Place 1 cup sliced onions on the bottom of slow cooker; add pork garlic, salt, pepper, water and remaining 1 cup sliced onions. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or 4 to 5 hours on HIGH heat setting. Drain liquid from slow cooker; chop the meat coarsely and discard excess fat. Put the pork back in the slow cooker add barbeque sauce and chopped onion. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours. Stir occasionally. Serve with toasted split buns and coleslaw.

Yield: 8 to 10 servings
