Egg Nog Thumbprint Cookies

40 Cookies


3/4 c. butter (or margarine)
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar (packed)
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 c. butter (margarine)
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. rum or rum extract
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cookie Dough Preparation: Cream 3/4 c. butter with both varieties of sugars, egg, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. In a separate bowl; combine flour and Clabber Girl Baking Powder and incorporate dry mix into creamed mixture; mix well.

Shape into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets, making thumbprint wells in center of each. Bake for 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Filling Preparation:
Combine filling ingredients and spoon into cooled cookies. Sprinkle with nutmeg for garnish.
