Spaghetti with Meat Sauce


1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
6 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 (28-ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
1 (28-ounce) can tomato sauce
2 bay leaves
Hot cook spaghetti or other pasta


In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot combine first 10 ingredients (beef-pepper). Brown meat mixture over medium-high heat. Drain any visible grease. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Bring to a simmer; cover and let cook over low heat 1- 1/12 hours stirring occasionally to thoroughly blend flavors.

Serve with hot cooked pasta.

Yield: 10-12 servings
