Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies


1 cup butter, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups old fashioned oats, uncooked
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces


Using an electric mixer, cream together butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture; mixing well. Stir in oats until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown.

Yield: 4 dozen
