Mandelbrot

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chopped, roasted almonds
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon Cardamom
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

In a Large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, cardamom and lemon juice; set aside. In a separate bowl combine dry ingredients and stir together well. Add to creamed mixture, and mix until well blended.

Grease and flour a baking sheet. Divide dough into two equal halves and pat onto baking sheet two longs 1/2 inch high and 14 inches long.

Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 25 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

When easy to touch, place loaves on cutting board and cut with a serrated knife 1/2-inch slices. place slices on baking sheet and return to oven for 10 minutes longer.

Cool on wire racks.
