Molé Barbeque Sauce
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon Clabber Girl Cornstarch
In a large saucepan sauté onions and garlic in olive oil for 5 minutes or until tender. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil; turn heat down and simmer for 15 minutes.
Makes about 2 1/2 cups sauce. Use on pork, chicken or beef. Excellent for barbeque sauce or serving on the side at the table.
