Chocolate Frosting


1 cup sugar 3 tablespoons cornstarch 2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, grated dash of salt 1 cup boiling water 3 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


In a saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch. Add chocolate and salt. Add boiling water; cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat, blend in butter and vanilla. Cool slightly. Spread on cake while warm. Makes enough to frost 1 cake layer. From the Clabber Girl Recipe Book "RECIPES TO WARM THE HEART"
