Herb Mushroom Gravy


  • 1/2 cup meat drippings (from roast, or use beef broth)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Clabber Girl Cornstarch
  • 1 small can or jar chopped mushroom stems & pieces


In 1 quart saucepan, mix together broth, water and spices. Heat to boiling. In a bowl, mix together cornstarch and milk. Add to broth mixture. Cooking over medium heat and stirring frequently, bring mixture to boil. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add mushrooms and remove from heat. Let sit for 1 or 2 minutes before serving.
