Cheesy Apple Biscuits


2 cups flour
4 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, cut into chunks
3/4 cup apple cider
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese


Mix all dry ingredients and butter together in bowl until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Add the cheese and then the apple cider. Stir just enough to form soft dough. For drop biscuits, drop dough by tablespoons onto a greased baking sheet. For cut biscuits, turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Kead into a ball and pat to 1/2 inch thickness. With a floured 2-1/2 inch biscuit cutter, cut the dough into rounds.

Place biscuits 1 inch apart on ungreased sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Pierce tops with tines of a fork. Bake at 450 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes.
Serve warm or cold.
