1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped Granny Smith apples
Cake Batter:
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
1/2 cup butter
3 eggs
3 cups Clabber Girl Baking Mix
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
Cinnamon-Crumb Mixture:
Combine brown sugar and flour; add cinnamon. Cut in butter
until mixture is crumbly; Add chopped Granny Smith apples
and toss until mixed. Set aside.
Cake:
Cream together brown sugar, apple pie spice, and butter.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Alternately add baking mix and buttermilk. Stir in vanilla.
Batter will be thick. Spoon half the batter into well-greased
bundt or tube pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon-apple crumb
mixture over top. Add remaining batter and top with remaining
cinnamon-apple crumb mixture.
Bake in 350 degree F. oven for
1 hour. Cool 5 minutes. Invert on cake plate. Cool and
slice.
Yield: 12-16 servings
