Soda Bread (printable)
Ingredients
4 cups all purpose flour
1 Tbsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups raisins, rinsed in hot water and dried
1 Tbsp caraway seeds
2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
Instructions
Sift together flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder, salt
and soda. Mix in raisins until they are thoroughly coated.
Stir in caraway seeds; add eggs and buttermilk and stir
until thoroughly combined. Knead on floured board 10 or
12 strokes; roll or pat out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut
with round 2-inch biscuit cutter and place on baking sheets.
Bake in preheated 400°F. oven
for 15-20 minutes. Cool on wire racks when done.
