Peanut Free Facility
Allergies to peanuts are responsible for nearly 100 deaths and 15,000 visits to emergency rooms – about half the deaths and emergency room visits caused by all food allergies – each year.
Effective June 1, 2005, the Clabber Girl Corporation manufacturing plant became a peanut-free facility. In our commitment to provide safe products for consumers suffering from the peanut allergy, the following protocol has been established:
- No products containing peanuts are in the Clabber Girl manufacturing facility.
- All ingredients have been verified by their manufacturers as containing no peanuts.
Each ingredient manufacturer must sign and submit a checklist detailing peanut policies. Laboratory testing* done by certified personnel at Clabber Girl Corporation ensures that all ingredients and finished products manufactured in this facility are free of the peanut protein.
An outside laboratory runs parallel testing of the finished products as added insurance for the absence of the peanut protein.
