Hokipokie cookies are easy to make and taste wonderful with the addition of cinnamon, raisins, chocolate chips and coconut.



  • 3 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 lb. shortening
  • 1 oz. salt
  • 1 oz. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 lb. raisins ground
  • 8 oz. eggs
  • 1/2 oz. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 oz. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 4 lb. Pastry Flour
  • 1 lb. oats
  • 1 1/2 lb. chocolate (chips)
  • 1 1/2 lb. coconut long threat
  • 1 1/2 lb. almonds (toasted, sliced)


"In a large mixing bowl combine grown sugar, shortening, salt, cinnamon and ground raisins and cream on second speed for 10 minutes.

Add eggs and vanilla and continue creaming for 5 minutes.

Slowly add water, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and pastry flour, alternating with sifted flour and baking powder.

Add rest of ingredientsand blend into a smooth dough.

Scale dough into 12-oz. units, roll it into a tube and cut eight cookies. Place cookies onto a pan, and flatten them, Bake at 360 F for 15-17 minutes."
