Sweet-Sour Sauce

This sweet and sour sauce is thickened by Clabber Girl Corn Starch and goes well with chicken, beef and shrimp. It can also be tossed with broccoli and pineapples for a vegetarian variation.



  • 8oz can pineapple
  • 10 oz. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. Clabber Girl Cornstarch
  • 1 c. vinegar (cider)
  • 3/4 c. catsup


1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in kettle.

2. Add vinegar, water, and soy sauce to dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

3. Cook until translucent, stirring constantly.

4. Serve with egg rolls or chicken tenders.
