Apple Farm Pudding

This farm pudding is similar to bread pudding, with the addition of seasonal fruits and nuts.


  • 4 c. apples sliced
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash salt
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • Apple Farm Pudding Batter
    • 1 lg. eggs
    • 3 Tbsp. margarine or butter, melted
    • 1-1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1 c. granulated sugar
    • dash salt
    • 1 Tbsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
    • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 

Generously grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with margarine or butter. In the pan, arrange sliced apples and raisins; set aside. In a small bowl mix sugar, walnuts, nutmeg, cinnamon and dash of salt; sprinkle over apple-raisin mixture. Dot with margarine or butter; sprinkle lemon juice over mixture; set aside.

Apple Farm Butter Batter:
In a medium bowl, beat together egg, milk and melted butter. Add flour, sugar, salt and Clabber Girl Baking Powder; mix well. Pour over apple-raisin mixture. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 45 minutes.

Serve with dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.

Yield: 15-18 servings
