These cookies are soft, chewy and just the right amount of sweet. The secret is adding sour cream for an extra soft cookie.

  • 1 c. raisins yellow, plumped and dried
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. unsalted butter
  • 1 lg. eggs
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. orange oil
  • 1 orange zest small, finely minced
  • 1/3 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 F. Stack two baking sheets together and line top one with parchment paper. Cover the raisins with hot water and let stand 3 minutes. Drain, dry well and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, cream the sugars with the butter until smooth. Add in the egg, vanilla, orange oil, orange zest and sour cream and blend until smooth.
Fold in dry ingredients. Form into large cookies - about 3-4 tablespoons of dough - and press very lightly onto the prepared cookies sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes until lightly browned on top and beginning to brown around the edges. Cool well.
(You can also dust these with powdered sugar)
