Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Delight the pumpkin lover in your life with these chocolate chip cookies! They are very soft and have the classic golden brown/orange color of baked pumpkin.


  • 1/2 c. butter softened
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 c. pumpkin canned
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 lg. eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. walnuts chopped


Preheat oven to 375 F.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar; add pumpkin and spices. Beat in egg and extract; set aside. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to pumpkin mixture. Mix until blended well, add chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.

Drop by the tablespoon full onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 F about 15 minutes. Remove cookies from sheets immediately and cool on cooling racks.
