Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

These oatmeal raisin cookies bake up quickly and will soon become a family favorite. You may substitute any combination of nuts, raisins and chocolate chips in this recipe for a different take on the classic oatmeal raisin flavor.


  • 1 c. butter softened
  • 1 c. brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 lg. eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. raisins


Heat oven to 350 F.

Cream together butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; mix well and add to butter mixture. Stir in oats and raisins until well incorporated. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake 10- 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies
