Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

These cookies are rolled in powdered sugar and when they bake, will get a beautiful crackling pattern on top.


  • 4 square unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 lg. eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. dried cranberries
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. walnuts chopped
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar


Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. In a large bowl, beat chocolate, oil, and 2 cups sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and salt; beat into sugar mixture. Stir in cranberries, chocolate chips and walnuts. Chill for 1 to 2 hours or until the dough is easy to handle.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into powdered sugar; roll to coat. Place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on rack.
