This is a traditional Christmas Pudding recipe that is well worth the wait! The combination of spices and dried fruit won't disappoint.

  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. currants
  • 1/3 c. citron chopped
  • 1 c. brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 c. margarine softened
  • 2 lg. eggs

Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add fruits and stir until they are well coated. In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, and add flour/fruit mixture alternately with milk. Mix well.

Turn into greased 1-1/2 quart mold. Cover and steam 2 hours.
(to steam, set mold on a rack in large kettle/saucepan. Keep boiling water to half the depth of the mold, adding water during steaming process when necessary.)
