Lemon Frosting

In saucepan combine sugar, water and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat to 232 degrees F. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. While beating, add syrup mixture. Add powdered sugar, grated lemon rind and lemon extract. Beat until stiff peaks form and frosting is of spreading consistency. From the Clabber Girl Recipe Book "RECIPES TO WARM THE HEART"


  • 2/3 c. water
  • 4 tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 tsp. lemon rind grated
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
