We love these buttermilk biscuits made with one measured tablespoon of Clabber Girl baking powder, soft and creamy Havarti cheese, and fresh, fragrant dill minced very fine. If you don’t have buttermilk on hand, measure 1 cup whole milk, remove 1 tablespoon and add white vinegar.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Havarti cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup dill fresh and finely minced
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work cold butter chunks into the flour mixture until a crumbly sand is achieved.

Stir in the Havarti cheese and fresh dill. Fold in the buttermilk with a rubber spatula until the mixture is just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured work surface and knead, about 1 minute.

Use a floured rolling pin to roll out the dough, ½ an inch thick.

Use a biscuit cutter or drinking glass to cut out biscuits and place on prepared baking sheet.

Bake 20 minutes, until golden brown.
