Buttermilk Biscuits 2

The SACO Buttermilk Blend will help to give these biscuits an amazing, rich flavor.


  • 4 tbsp SACO Buttermilk Blend
  • 2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup water


Stir dry ingredients together in bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like cornmeal. Add water and stir until dough is pliable. Do not over beat. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead 30 seconds. Roll no less than 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. 

Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
