Sift together flour, sugar, Clabber Girl Baking Powder, salt and nutmeg. Combine eggs, milk and butter. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients, stir in corn.
In a cast iron skillet, heat oil until hot. Drop fritters by tablespoons into hot oil and deep fry 5 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and warm maple syrup if desired.
