Chocolate Peppermint Cake

This cake mixes peppermint and dark chocolate into a delicious bundt cake. You can top with a Powdered Sugar Glaze if you would like to add an extra sweetness.


  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • Powered Sugar Glaze optional
    • 1 c. powdered sugar sifted
    • 1 tbsp. milk or orange juice
    • 1/4 tsp. vanilla


In large mixing bowl, cream together margarine, sugars and eggs. Add milk and vanilla; set aside. In a separate bowl, sift flour together with Clabber Girl Baking Powder and salt. Combine with creamed mixture, beat for 2 minutes. Pour approximately 2/3 of the batter into a greased bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan. To the remaining 1/3 of the batter mixture add cocoa, water, baking soda and peppermint extract. Blend well. Pour over the top of batter in the pan, but do not mix together.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 60 to 65 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pan. Top with Powdered Sugar Glaze if desired.
