These cookies are chewy and filled with old-fashioned rolled oats, perfect for cookie jars.

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Stir in salt, oatmeal, flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and baking soda.

Drop cookies onto cookie sheet by the heaping tablespoonful for nice, large cookies.

Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 to 12 minutes or just until slightly golden. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
