Waffles à la Strawberry

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup strawberries chopped
  • whipping cream
  • strawberries for garnish


In a large bowl combine flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and sugar. In a separate bowl, mix together egg yolks, vanilla extract, oil and milk. Combine with flour mixture and add chopped strawberries. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; gently fold into batter. 

Pour about 1 cup to 1 1/4 cups batter onto preheated waffle iron. Cook according to manufacturer's directions. Top each waffle with about 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries and garnish with whipped cream. Makes about 3 or 4 waffles.

CHOCOLATE WAFFLES: Prepare as directed above, but reduce flour to 1 1/2 cups. Add 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder to the flour mixture.
