This dish is a new take on the classic Chinese sweet and sour sauce. Made with honey, Chinese five spice (cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, star anise, szechuan peppercorns) and lime juice. This recipe makes 4 servings and it quick and easy to prepare.

  • 1/3 c. honey
  • 1/4 c. lime juice
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp. water
  • 1 tbsp. Clabber Girl Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 lb. chicken thighs boneless/skinless, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 tsp. Chinese five-spice
  • lime wedges for garnish
  • 8 oz. soba noodles cooked and drained

Cook soba noodles as directed, drain, and set aside.

Combine honey, lime juice, water, cornstarch, and soy sauce; mixing well. Sprinkle both sides of chicken with combined garlic powder and Chinese five spice.

Heat wok or large skillet over a medium high heat. Add oil; heat until hot. Add chicken to heated wok; stir-fry 2 to 3 minutes or until chicken is seared on both sides.

Pour honey lime mixture into the pan and cook 4 to 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Add soba noodles and heat thoroughly. Serve with lime wedges.
