  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/3 c. butter cold, cut into pieces
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine flour, sugar, Rumford Baking Powder, cream of tartar, and salt in a large bowl; cut in butter using a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in half-and-half and rosemary. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth (about 10-15 seconds). Roll dough out to 1/2- inch thickness. Cut into 12 (1 3/4- inch) biscuits. Place biscuits 1-inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 1 dozen biscuits.
