  • 2/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 12 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour sifted
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1 c. nuts chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Using a large sauce pan over very low heat, mix your cocoa powder and vegetable oil, cooking about 5 minutes.  Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl, let cool slightly.  Add in sugar and whisk thoroughly, add beaten eggs mixing well.  Whisk in flour and Clabber Girl Baking Powder.  Fold in nuts now or sprinkle on top of brownies prior to baking.

Pour into lightly greased 9x13 inch pan.  Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes.  Bake until top has a dull crust and a knife or toothpick comes out clean after inserting in center of brownies.  Cool slightly and then cut into squares.  Makes 12 brownies.
